  • Maintain accurate reports and agreed process documentation.
  • Work with the client and Newclearus to resolve operational issues and improve delivery.

  • Comfort with spreadsheets, operational reports and structured workflows.
  • Sound judgement about when to decide, ask for approval or escalate.

What to include with your application

Design, build and maintain software supporting our managed ICT and workforce services. You will work on applications, APIs, integrations and automation, with responsibility for maintainable code, reliability and secure delivery.

What you will do

  • Design and implement back-end services, APIs and integrations with third-party platforms.
  • Turn business requirements into scoped technical work and explain trade-offs clearly.
  • Review code and improve architecture, performance and maintainability.
  • Build meaningful tests, troubleshoot defects and support safe releases.
  • Apply appropriate authentication, access control, secrets management and secure development practices.
  • Document APIs, key decisions, deployment procedures and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and other developers, and share knowledge.

What you need

  • Substantial hands-on software development experience with evidence of ownership of production systems.
  • Strong capability in an appropriate back-end language and framework; we will discuss the stack for the assigned work.
  • Experience with APIs, databases, integrations, Git and collaborative code review.
  • Ability to reason about testing, security, reliability and deployment.
  • Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote team and raise risks before they become delivery surprises.

What to include with your application

  • A CV outlining systems you built, your responsibilities and the technologies you used.
  • A portfolio or public repository if available, or a written description of work you can lawfully discuss. Do not share private client code or credentials.
  • Examples of an architectural decision, a production issue and a security or quality improvement.
  • Your availability and notice period.
